A Celebration of Togetherness
A Community Tradition Since 1973
As the sweet scent of roasted turkey and warm apple pie fills the air, marking the arrival of another Thanksgiving season, Red Rock Canyon School is set to host its beloved Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
A cherished tradition for almost five decades, this event has been a testament to camaraderie, community spirit, and the universal language of food.
The Story Behind the Tradition
The roots of this tradition trace back to 1973 when Frank Habibian, a recent immigrant, was inspired by the warm welcome he received during a Thanksgiving dinner. What started as an act of gratitude soon transformed into an annual tradition, a platform for the community to come together and share their stories over a hearty meal.
Food for Thought: A Feast for All
Our Community Thanksgiving Dinner, spearheaded by Frank Habibian and his family, is more than just a meal. It’s a symbol of unity and a beacon of hope for those who might otherwise spend the holiday alone.
Last year’s event saw us serving over 3,000 dinners, a number we hope to match or even surpass this year.

The Backbone of the Event...
Our Volunteers
The success of our Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner wouldn’t be possible without the tireless efforts of our volunteers. Their dedication and commitment are the fuel that keeps this tradition alive. We are always in need of helping hands. If you wish to join our team of volunteers, please contact us.
OUR DONORS
Celebrating Love and Generosity
The heart of the annual Thanksgiving dinner lies not just in the tradition of gathering but in the profound generosity of its donors and volunteers. Their willingness to give time, resources, and care is the cornerstone of what makes this event more than a meal—it’s a symbol of community strength and togetherness.
The donors’ contributions go beyond the tables set with turkey and trimmings; they foster a sense of belonging and provide a warm, festive occasion for those who might otherwise be without.
It’s a powerful reminder that a community thrives when its members are willing to support and uplift one another. The shared commitment to ensuring that everyone has a place to go on Thanksgiving is a beautiful reflection of the spirit of giving that defines the holiday season.
Gratefully Accepting Donations
It’s through these acts of kindness that a community not only shares a meal but weaves the fabric of mutual support and enduring fellowship.
